This was the sweetest most delightful photo shoot I have ever done before. I met Katie when I was just a wee high schooler back in the day. She recently contacted me and wanted to capture a few sweet moments of her grandparents. Of course I was so excited because this is something I would do with my grandparents in a heartbeat. As soon as I walked in the door the smell of, what seemed like a thanksgiving dinner feast, warm hugs, jokes and laughter all welcomed me. We sat on the back porch and talked and told stories...but the best were the stories the ones William told us of how in love he is with Kathy...I was in tears!! It melted my heart. It is shoots like this that make me SO VERY thankful for life, love, friends...and most of all...MY HUSBAND. I just love you Kathy and William, ya'll were sincerely my favorite subjects...and Kathy you better believe I will be back for more chicken n dumplings and no baked cookies one day!!! They were SO good!! You guys are a rare blessing from God.

So this past weekend Jeremy & I went on a houseboat trip with my family. It was an adventure to say the least. I didn't bring my camera, but I documented the trip with my iPhone...I think I heard "Courtney, where's your camera...we need this picture" over 341 times. Here is a little snippet of our trip.
we were in the deep dark hills of Kentucky...
where you get your AOL dial up, electricity, air transportation signals, water & cable from the same tower...
obviously there was little to no cell phone service, but don't worry...they've got you covered.
we finally arrived to see our boat waiting for us...
...ne and pa were waiting for us too...
does this food chain seem off to anyone but me...dun nun dun nun...
our family vacation even made it in the local newspaper...
my uncles showed up...
...we made music videos...my uncle did the dougie...
we got tats...
LaFonda, our mascot, did some pretty crazy things {it must me those fentanyl pops she was clinging to all weekend}...
we begged for more cowbell...and then begged for LESS cowbell...
the only picture of me...that happens when you are a photographer...
we snuck away & spent all of jeremy's money on cheese fries, ice cream, and chicken wraps...
...we sang the same 70's songs on repeat & body bowled...and of course wore our shorts WAY too short for comfort...
...and we somehow got the boat back and passed inspection...

Corey & Maggie are my baby cousins from Wisconsin. They are a complete hoot. Corey LOVES to talk, tell you about dinosaurs, & put on performances for large groups of people!!! I think you will be able to tell from these photos that he was doing all of the above during the shoot. Maggie is our little tornado of the family that is still sweet as pie! She will melt your heart with all of her kisses and hugs!!!

Let me go ahead and tell you a little side note about this SWEET, PRECIOUS engagement session...Ryan and I spent about 75% of college sitting in the same classrooms critiquing each others work for about four years. He won't lie to you if something is terrible, or it's just okay, or he really loves it...so I hope after all of these years, when he critiques this, he will LOVE it. :) Candace and I went to high school together and have known each other even longer...and I can honestly say I think these two are so very perfect for one another. Posting this session makes me feel very old. It wasn't very long ago that our parents were teasing our bangs higher than heaven together & we were running around our grandparents house. Regan is my baby cousin and is now {tear} getting married. I guess I will allow it though, because Eric is a one of a kind, sweet southern boy. We had so much fun dodging cow patties, listening to music, off-roading...whew, we did it all during this sweet sweet session. I am so very proud of all that they have accomplished...and so happy to have another southern gentleman in the family. Welcome Eric...there is a lot more fun to be had with a little Eric Church playing...watch out now!!!

Sometimes all it takes is singing a little "twinkle twinkle little" to get a smile! Aubrie was so sweet singing to the ducks and her mini audience cheering her on!!
This past Sunday I took the ducks out to the farm for their first photo shoot of the year. Hadley and Annie were the best duck handlers ever. They were so sweet to them!!!
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is seeing people and families grow. I started shooting Charlsie & Matt before they were married and soon after, I shot their fabulous wedding...and now her growing baby bump. Sweet Griffin will be here before we know it. I can't wait to see his sweet little face!!!!
I was so excited to meet this little bundle of joy. I have photographed his big sister Aly Rae for a little over a year now and it is always so exciting to continue to create the sweetest of memories for growing families. I look forward to sharing more of this little guy as he grows!
